Nursery Graduation
|
|
The children in the Nursery celebrated the end of the school year with a graduation ceremony. All of the children were very proud to wear their caps and gowns in front of their parents. The children had painted pictures of what they would like to be when they grow up and proudly shared this with us all. Each Nursery child was awarded their own Diploma and is now ready for Reception. This very special day was concluded with a picnic with parents.

ISM Sports Day

After two rain delays the annual ISM Sports Day took place last Friday, 25th June. The weather gods were well and truly smiling on Moscow as temperatures reached thirty two degrees celcius. Students and staff alike arrived at the event vibrantly dressed in house colours and ready to passionately support their houses in this eagerly anticipated event.

The Goblin Man

Last week Lower School parents enjoyed a special treat, as they witnessed two fantastic performances of ‘The Goblin Man’ by Year 1 and 2 children. These young students truly rose to the challenge of leading an extended production and the pleasure they took in being stars for their appreciative audience was plain for all to see.

Bugsy Malone

It’s 1920 and child mobsters are running amok on the streets of New York City. This was the setting for our Summer Production of Bugsy Malone. There were over 100 children involved from Years 3-8 and the children put on a spectacular performance. The play was action packed from start to finish; with Bugsy trying to win Blousey’s heart, Fat Sam trying to keep his empire out of the hands of Dandy Dan and a whole heap of splurging going on in between. It was an ambitious play for the children, but they all worked extremely hard and the audience were treated to quite a show.

The Tiddler

|
The Foundation Stage production of Tiddler was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There was much to learn about different sea creatures, rhyming words and of course the moral of the story was not to lie. All of the children worked incredibly hard on the production, so too did their parents, the costumes were phenomenal, some even ABBA inspired!
The whole teaching team also contributed greatly, writing the script, lyrics and music as well as creating the fantastic backdrop and additional props. Well done to all involved!

British Ambassador's Visit

|
Ambassador Dame Anne Pringle visited the school recently. She attended an assembly in which the ISM Choir performed both classical and contemporary pieces. Two of our Year 6 students presented her with a welcome bouquet of Roses. During the assembly, she shared with the children a story of visiting the Queen at Buckingham Palace. They were enthralled.
Later on the same day she toured the school and really enjoyed talking to the children and staff and seeing them at work.

ISM Swimming Gala
|
|
ISM held its annual Swimming Gala on May 13th. The event was held at the Krylatskoe Golf Course swimming pool. The Gala was exceptionally well supported by the student body with close to all of the students from Year 1 to Year 8 participating in at least one event.

ISM Science Day

|
The students and staff had great fun at our annual Science Day on April 26th. It was a stimulating and fun packed event Mad Science group performing their amazing show Under the Big Top.

New Middle School Campus & Facilities
|
|
For the Academic Year 2010/2011, the ISM will open a new Middle School campus in the Olympic Park, Krylatskoe, just across from the existing campus. We are extremely proud of this exciting expansion and look forward to starting the coming academic year with new and improved facilities.
