ISM Science DayThe students and staff had great fun at our annual Science Day on April 26th. It was a stimulating and fun packed event Mad Science group performing their amazing show Under the Big Top. This performance will illustrated the miraculous and mysterious world of circus tricks. The children experienced water disappearing before their eyes and watched a colourful fountain show. They also learnt the secret of invisible ink and a paper cup that is impossible to break! The event ended with a laser show. The children will also spent the day taking part in The Great Balloon Race! The whole school was involved in planning, creating and executing an investigation into who has the fastest moving balloon. Lower School children will used their Arts and Craft skills to add ‘speedy’ designs to their balloons and time their races. The Middle School children used their knowledge of forces and speed to find the average speed of their aerodynamic designed balloons. Not only was this a day full of scientific activities, children were able to use their knowledge and understanding of Maths and English to complete their scientific write ups. A truly great day was had by all! |
