HAS ISM GOT TALENT?On Thursday 16th February Year 1 up to Year 9 will have their opportunity to impress the judges and win points for their house in our annual Performing Arts Contest. Last year the Lower School contest was won by the Vikings and in the upper school the Romans performed their way to the cup. Categories for this year are Solo Vocal, Solo Instrumental, Group Musical, Drama (Either serious or Comedy), Dance and an Open Miscellaneous Category for anything that doesn't fit in the ones listed above. To make the final of the competition students will need to prepare an impressive performance (3 mins maximum) in initial auditions with the aim of being chosen to represent their house. These 'First round' auditions will take place prior to the final with Teacher house leaders overseeing this process on Lower Campus and House Captains and Prefects organising auditions on Upper Campus. Last years entries were of a very high standard and revealed a number of 'Stars' in the making. Students are encouraged to start practising now for the event with aim of showing their best. You never know who could be in the audience talent spotting. Parents of finalists will be invited to attend the finals and more information will follow when the finalists are confirmed on Monday 13th February. |
